Purpose of This Guide<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This document is the primary onboarding entry point<\/strong> for individuals granted Platform Administrator<\/strong> or Technical Steward<\/strong> authority within MinistryCentral Europe.<\/p>\n

It defines:<\/p>\n

  • The nature of platform authority<\/li>\n
  • The scope of responsibility<\/li>\n
  • The expectations attached to elevated access<\/li>\n
  • The governance framework that constrains technical power<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This guide must be read and acknowledged<\/strong> before administrator access is granted.<\/p>\n

    Role Overview: Platform Administrator \/ Technical Steward<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Platform Administrators are custodians of the technical integrity<\/strong> of MinistryCentral Europe.<\/p>\n

    You are entrusted with access that can:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Affect all users<\/li>\n
    • Alter system behavior<\/li>\n
    • Introduce or prevent technical debt<\/li>\n
    • Enable or undermine stability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      This role exists to protect the system<\/strong>, not to customize it.<\/p>\n

      Core Principle (Non-Negotiable)<\/strong><\/h2>\n

      Stability, recoverability, and clarity take precedence over speed, convenience, or experimentation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

      Technical authority is centralized by design.<\/p>\n

      What You Own<\/strong><\/h2>\n

      As a Platform Administrator, you own:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Hosting environment and server access<\/li>\n
      • WordPress core management<\/li>\n
      • Plugin installation, updates, and removal<\/li>\n
      • Theme management<\/li>\n
      • Global CSS and styling infrastructure<\/li>\n
      • Elementor global configuration<\/li>\n
      • LearnDash technical configuration<\/li>\n
      • Security controls<\/li>\n
      • Backup and recovery procedures<\/li>\n
      • Performance and reliability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        You are accountable for system health over time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

        What You Do NOT Own<\/strong><\/h2>\n

        You do not<\/strong> own:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • Editorial decisions<\/li>\n
        • Content authority<\/li>\n
        • Course pedagogy<\/li>\n
        • Visual experimentation<\/li>\n
        • One-off fixes for convenience<\/li>\n
        • Unreviewed customization<\/li>\n
        • \u201cTemporary\u201d technical workarounds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Platform authority does not override governance.<\/p>\n

            Change Discipline (Critical)<\/strong><\/h2>\n

            All technical changes must be:<\/p>\n

            1. Intentional<\/strong><\/li>\n
            2. Documented<\/strong><\/li>\n
            3. Reversible<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Before acting, ask:<\/p>\n

              • Is this change necessary?<\/li>\n
              • Is it globally safe?<\/li>\n
              • Is there a rollback plan?<\/li>\n
              • Is this the correct layer to fix the problem?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                If uncertain \u2192 pause and escalate.<\/p>\n

                Access & Permissions<\/strong><\/h2>\n
                  \n
                • Admin access is granted only when required<\/strong><\/li>\n
                • Access is reviewed periodically<\/li>\n
                • Shared credentials are forbidden<\/li>\n
                • Access is revoked when role changes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Least privilege is the default.<\/p>\n

                  Backups & Recovery Responsibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n

                  You are responsible for ensuring that:<\/p>\n

                  • Backups exist<\/li>\n
                  • Backups are verified<\/li>\n
                  • Recovery is possible within reasonable time<\/li>\n
                  • Backups are not assumed to work without testing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    Recovery matters more than uptime promises.<\/p>\n

                    Security Expectations<\/strong><\/h2>\n
                      \n
                    • Strong authentication practices<\/li>\n
                    • Prompt patching of vulnerabilities<\/li>\n
                    • Immediate escalation of incidents<\/li>\n
                    • No silent security changes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      Security failures are escalated immediately, not quietly fixed.<\/p>\n

                      Relationship to Other Roles<\/strong><\/h2>\n
                        \n
                      • You enable<\/strong> the Web Platform Lead<\/li>\n
                      • You protect<\/strong> Content Editors from structural risk<\/li>\n
                      • You support<\/strong> Course and Instructor Coordinators indirectly<\/li>\n
                      • You do not bypass<\/strong> governance to \u201chelp\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        Your restraint is part of your value.<\/p>\n

                        Acknowledgement & Activation<\/strong><\/h2>\n

                        Before administrator access is granted, you must formally acknowledge:<\/p>\n

                        • Understanding of platform authority limits<\/li>\n
                        • Acceptance of governance constraints<\/li>\n
                        • Commitment to system stability and recoverability<\/li>\n
                        • Agreement to escalate uncertainty rather than improvise<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                          Access is granted after acknowledgement<\/strong>, not before.<\/p>\n
